Celebrating International Day of People with a Disability
On December 2nd, we will be holding a free, open event at the O'Brien Group Arena, focused on accessibility. People will be able to come down and try ice skating and curling, and even pick up a free showbag! We are very proud to be celebrating the International Day of People with a Disability, in collaboration with Scope, the O'Brien Group Arena, and Bank of Melbourne.
Sochi 2014 Winter Olympians Brooklee Han (Figure Skating) and Deanna Lockett (Short Track Speed Skating) will be joining guests, and staff and coaches from the O'Brien Group Arena will also be around to lend a hand and help people learn.
The event is supported officially by the International Day of People with a Disability, as well as Sport and Recreation Victoria. We have a great team of volunteers, with managers from Bank of Melbourne, members of the Victorian Ice Sports communities, and Scope employees and carers — but we can always use more help!
If you would like to volunteer to help out next Wednesday, please register with us by Monday, November 30th.
We're looking forward to seeing you there!
